People moves: New IROs join teams at Arhaus, KX and TD Synnex

Plus Elevance Health’s head of IR moves into CFO role

Derek Brown, formerly head of IR at Trustpilot, has moved into a new role at head of investor relations at KX, a UK software company that was divested from FD Technologies.

Brown, who previously worked on pre-IPO IR efforts at Trustpilot before it listed in London in March 2021, will start to communicate the company’s investment case with potential investors, according to a LinkedIn post.

He describes KX as a provider of ‘advanced solutions for the financial markets, aerospace and defence, energy, IoT [internet of things], manufacturing and healthcare industries’.

Brown adds: ‘The addressable market is massive and growing, accelerated by global investment in AI. Our customers benefit from faster, more accurate insights and decisions at any scale, cost-effectively. It’s a privilege to have the chance to help communicate this compelling investment case to investors.’

Over in the US, Tara Atwood, former head of IR at hospitality group Hyatt Hotels, has taken up a new role as vice president of investor relations at home furnishings company Arhaus.

Writing on LinkedIn about her new role, Atwood says: ‘After spending time with the leadership team, including founder, chairman and CEO John Reed and CFO Dawn Phillipson, it became clear that their culture and strategic vision align perfectly with what I love in a company.

‘I’m thrilled to be joining them on this exciting growth journey and look forward to contributing to their continued success.’

Meanwhile, NYSE-listed medical firm Elevance Health has promoted its head of IR, Stephen Tanal, to become CFO of its government health benefits business.

The move comes alongside the appointment of Nathan Rich as its new vice president, investor relations, effective November 11.

Prior to joining Elevance Health, Rich served as vice president in global investment research at Goldman Sachs and held various sell-side analyst roles at Citi.

‘Nate brings nearly two decades of experience spanning multiple sectors, including managed care, healthcare services and consumer industries,’ says Mark Kaye, Elevance’s executive vice president and CFO, whom Rich will report to. ‘His diverse expertise, coupled with his analytical acumen will be instrumental in driving our strategy forward as we continue to evolve as a lifetime trusted health partner.’

Finally, Jack Huddleston has taken on a new position as head of investor relations at NYSE-listed information technology firm TD Synnex.

Huddleston previously served as senior manager of investor relations at Nasdaq-listed cloud computing company Zscaler, where he worked for three years. The firm picked up several IR Magazine awards during his tenure, including trophies for best overall investor relations (large cap), best investor relations officer (large cap) for Bill Choi and best in sector: technology at the IR Magazine awards – US 2024.

Prior to that, he worked as a senior financial analyst at real estate development and management firm The St Joe Company.
