Two energy companies led the pack at the IR Magazine Awards – South East Asia 2024, with PTT Exploration and Production and Thaioil Group each picking up three trophies at the gala event in Singapore.
Following the ceremony at the Singapore Stock Exchange, Thaioil went home with the awards for best crisis management, best innovation in shareholder communications and the rising star trophy for its assistant IR manager Piyathida Ploypradith.
Meanwhile PTTEP – which was the big winner at 2023’s ceremony – was awarded the prizes for best investor relations officer (large cap) for its head of IR Arada Vichayavanit and best overall investor relations (large cap), as well as the trophy for best use of social media and video.
Two companies took home two awards apiece on the day. First, Thai manufacturing company Berli Jucker was awarded best investor relations officer (mid-cap), shared by Rami Piirainen and Jindatip Sirikunakorn, and best overall investor relations (mid-cap). Indonesian palm-oil producer Bumitama Agri saw head of investor relations Michael Kesuma named best investor relations officer (small cap) and took the award for best overall investor relations (small cap).
Other winners on the day included Malaysian real estate developer UEM Sunrise, whose CFO Hafizuddin Sulaiman addressed the forum earlier in the day, the SGX-listed European property fund Cromwell REIT and Thai retailer CP Axtra.

The IR Magazine Awards – South East Asia 2024 are divided into two sections. The awards-by-research categories are decided by a survey of hundreds of portfolio managers, buy-side analysts and sell-side analysts covering companies across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Prizes include best overall IR and best IR officer in large, mid and small-cap categories.
The awards-by-nomination categories see companies in the region send in entries explaining their work in key areas of IR practice, such as ESG reporting, digital communications and investor events. Here, the winners are decided by a panel of judges. For the 2024 awards, the panel of judges featured:
