CSE-listed mining company Abitibi Metals has announced the appointment of experienced extractives IRO Christopher Haldane as its new vice president of investor relations.
Aldane, who has more than 20 years of experience in the mining and metals industry and is a board member of CIRI’s Ontario chapter, joined the London, Ontario-based company earlier this year. His previous roles include various IR positions at Denarius, GCM Mining and Caldas Gold Corp.
Unveiling the move on LinkedIn, Aldane adds that he is ‘happy to share’ that he has started the new role.
Over the border in Lehi, Utah, Nasdaq-listed engineering services company Bowman Consulting has hired Betsy Patterson as its new investor relations director. She joins after working for Financial Profiles as the managing director of the strategic communications firm’s investor relations practice.
Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Bowman Consulting says: ‘With decades of experience developing award-winning IR programs for small to large-cap public companies, Betsy will play a key role in elevating Bowman’s investor relations program and executing strategies that enhance our market presence.
‘We are confident that her leadership will strengthen our relationships within the investment community and drive long-term value for our stakeholders.’
In Switzerland, SIX-listed telecoms firm mobilezone has hired Pascal Boll as its new director group investor relations and MVNO [mobile virtual network operator].
The company says that in this newly-created role, Boll will primarily be responsible for communication with investors and analysts as well as the expansion of the MVNO business.
Boll joins the company from Stifel, where he worked as an equity analyst with a focus on the telecoms sector.
Speaking about his new position, he says: ‘After many interesting years as an analyst, where I was also responsible for covering mobilezone, I am delighted to become part of this dynamic and entrepreneurial company.
‘I am looking forward to the new tasks, to working with great new colleagues, and to contributing to value creation at mobilezone. I am also looking forward to meeting Swiss and international investors again and continuing the valuable discussions of previous years.’
Meanwhile in Singapore, the SGX-listed IREIT Global has revealed that it has promoted former head of IR Kevin Tan Heng Chew to CFO, effective from January 28.
Tan has been with the REIT, which is sponsored by Tikehau Capital and City Developments, since 2017, serving as head of investor relations and capital markets. He takes over the CFO role from Anne Chua Tai Hua, who had served in the position since August 2022 and is leaving the organisation. He will continue to take responsibility for investor relations, the company added.
Finally, award-winning Canadian IRO Quentin Weber has been promoted to a new role at engineering and professional services company WSP Global. He now holds the position of global head, investor relations after previously serving in other more junior IR positions at the company, which he joined in December 2019. Prior to that, he held various positions at Computershare.

At the IR Magazine Awards – Canada 2023, Weber picked up four trophies on WSP’s behalf for best overall investor relations (large cap), best IR by a senior management team (large cap), best investor event (large cap) and best IR in the industrials sector.
