People moves: Angela Catlin steps back from The Co-operative Bank as B&M’s head of IR David McCarthy retires
Angela Catlin, head of investor relations, corporate affairs and brand at The Co-operative Bank, has announced she is stepping back after two years at the company.
Catlin, who has spoken at several IR Impact events about ESG and other topics in recent years, joined The Co-operative Bank in 2023 as its head of investor relations, adding corporate affairs and brand duties to her job in 2024.
Prior to that, she worked at Lloyds Banking Group in various roles for 11 years, including four years as the bank’s associate director of investor relations.
Writing on LinkedIn, Catlin says: ‘It has been the most incredible two years but now feels the right time to look for my next challenge. I have learnt and experienced more in the last two years than I could have dreamed.
‘But for now, time to enjoy the summer with the most challenging and demanding execs I know, my two little boys.’

McCarthy has headed up at IR at the company since October 2022. Prior to that, he held several roles across HSBC’s investment banking business, holding roles as global head of equity retail research and as senior advisor for the consumer and retail sectors.
Before HSBC, he worked as an equity analyst covering the retail sector for various institutions. He currently serves on the UK Government’s retail sector advisory council.
Writing on LinkedIn, McCarthy adds: ‘I am not retiring entirely and will be continuing with my other interests.’
In India, Minda Corporation has announced that Ajay Agarwal is taking over as president of finance and strategy, taking command of the NSE-listed firm’s investor relations function.
He will also spearhead the company’s strategy, corporate planning, M&A, joint ventures and strategic growth initiatives teams.
Agarwal is a chartered accountant and lawyer, bringing more than 24 years of executive experience across varied industries. He previously served as president, finance and strategy at Vedanta and held leadership roles at KPMG and PWC.
Finally, NYSE-listed real estate firm Extra Space Storage has announced that former vice president of IR Jeff Norman will be taking over as CFO, following the retirement of current finance chief Scott Stubbs.
Norman, who has worked at the company since 2012, has served on its senior management team since 2014 in various roles, including director of financing, vice president of investor relations and most recently, as senior vice president of capital markets and treasury.
