Laura Kiernan, the former president of NIRI’s New York chapter, has taken up a new role as an in-house IRO at San Antonio, Texas-based advertising company Clear Channel Outdoor.

Kiernan previously worked as senior vice president and IR consultant at Rivel as well as running her own consultancy, High Touch Investor Relations, for many years. She has served on the board for NIRI’s New York chapter since 2018 and is also vice chairman of the national branch’s certification and development committee.

She will take up the position of vice president, investor relations at Clear Channel Outdoor, which is listed on the NYSE.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Kiernan says she is ‘excited’ to start in her new role. She adds: ‘After years as an IR consultant, I’m back in-house. Join us for our investor day on Tuesday, September 9. I’m looking forward to engaging with our investors and analysts and sharing our vision for the future.’

Meanwhile, Swedish aerospace and defence company Saab has appointed Johan Andersson as its new head of investor relations, effective September 15.

Existing head of IR Merton Kaplan will take up a new role within the Stockholm-listed company’s M&A team, Saab says in a press release.

Most recently the head of IR at Husqvarna Group, Andersson has more than 15 years of experience in investor relations, including stints at SCA, Securitas Systems and Elekta.

Speaking about his new role, Andersson says: ‘I am pleased and proud to be joining Saab in the midst of the company’s strong growth journey. I look forward to contributing to an open and constructive dialogue with our investors, and to highlighting the company’s long-term value creation at a time when security and innovation are more important than ever.’

Over in Germany, Christoph Fink has taken over as head of IR at Essen-based chemicals company Evonik.

Former head of IR Tim Lange has left the company after 13 years serving in its IR team, and will take a sabbatical year, according to a post on LinkedIn.

Fink, who worked on Evonik’s IPO in 2013 as investor relations manager, has since worked in various IR roles at Zalando and adidas, before returning to the chemicals company in 2021 as investor relations director.

In France, former AstraZeneca IR director Henry Wheeler has taken up a new position as vice president, investor relations at biopharmaceutical company Ipsen.

In a capital markets career spanning almost 20 years, Wheeler started off as a sell-side analyst at Morgan Stanley and Third Bridge, before moving in-house at AstraZeneca in 2012. After eight years at the Cambridge company, he moved to take up a vice president, investor relations role at Innate Pharma in Marseille, France, eventually adding communications and corporate development responsibilities.

Wheeler replaces outgoing head of IR Craig Marks, who left Ipsen in January 2025 to take up a new role at Sandoz.

Finally, Mathilda Eriksson, head of IR at Swedish construction company Instalco, has taken up additional responsibilities with the company’s group management team.

Eriksson joined Instalco in 2023 as IR and communications manager, after various IR roles with other Swedish companies including Alimak Group, Kinnevik and Stillfront Group.

Announcing the change on LinkedIn, she writes: ‘Since joining in 2023, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the group, from management and staff at HQ to our 150+ subsidiaries. That has given me a front-row seat to a unique entrepreneurial culture that combines local strength with shared ambitions.

‘It’s a responsibility I’m proud of, and one that comes at an exciting time as we strengthen our position, sharpen our focus on profitability and continue to defend our place as best in class while preparing for the next chapter.’
