The trio of financial institutions are followed closely by FOUR COMPANIES who each contend six categories
Three financial firms are leading the pack ahead of this year’s IR Impact Awards – Canada 2026, with TD Bank Group in the running for eight awards and rivals Scotiabank and Intact Financial contending seven categories ahead of a gala event in Toronto.
TD Bank Group is shortlisted for the headline category of best overall investor relations (large cap), as well as awards for best investor relations officer (large cap) and recognition for Raymond Chun, CEO, and Kelvin Tran, CFO, who are up for the best IR by a senior management team (large cap) award.
Intact Financial, shortlisted for seven awards, will compete with TD Bank in all of the above categories and is also in the running for best investor event (large cap) and the rising star award for Krystal Guathier, its director of investor relations.

Meanwhile, Scotiabank is also nominated across seven categories, including best innovation in shareholder communications, best IR website, best sell-side management and best sustainability reporting (large cap). The latter category will pit Scotiabank against TD Bank Group directly, as well as in the best CEO communications award.
A quartet of companies – Agnico Eagle Mines, Definity Financial Corporation, Alamos Gold and Skeena Gold & Silver – will compete across six categories each, while five more – AtkinsRéalis Group, CN, Royal Bank of Canada, Maple Leaf Foods and CIBC – are shortlisted for five awards each.

Almost 90 companies will compete to take home awards across both researched and nominated categories at the IR Impact Awards – Canada 2026, which will take place at the Fairmont Royal York, Toronto on Thursday, April 2. This event honors talent and excellence in the investor relations community across Canada.
Appearing for the first time in 2026 are two new awards: best CEO communications and best IR impact. While the former recognizes companies who have highlighted their key senior management figures in innovative ways, the latter celebrates IR teams who have gone above and beyond to deliver strategic impact and shareholder value at their companies.
Categories are broadly split into two distinct types: first, awards-by-research awards, which are decided by a survey of investors and analysts covering Canadian companies.
Meanwhile, the award-by-nomination categories feature certain aspects of IR work – such as annual reporting, use of technology or investor meetings – that companies nominate themselves for consideration, before winning entries are picked by a panel of expert judges.
This year’s panel of judges are:
- Brian Christie, former vice president, investor relations, Agnico Eagle Mines
- Janet Craig, founding partner, Endeavour
- Colleen Johnston, former CFO, TD Bank
- Nathalie Megann, president and chief executive officer, Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI)
- Gord Nelson, CFO, Cineplex
- Laurie Havelock, editor, IR Impact.
