CIRI has announced that Nathalie Megann is set to retire from her role as president and CEO of the IR association at the end of the year after 10 years of serving in the organization’s leadership.
Megann has been a key member of the CIRI community for over 20 years, serving on its board of directors since 2016, including as chair from 2020 to 2022, before moving into the president and CEO role in 2023.
‘I have enjoyed my time with CIRI and this wasn’t an easy decision, but the timing is right for me to retire. The work CIRI does is very important to our capital market community and it’s an honor to work on its behalf,’ says Megann in a press release announcing the change.
‘On behalf of the board and entire CIRI community, I would like to thank Nathalie for her invaluable contributions to the investor relations community over more than two decades,’ adds Scott Parsons, chair of CIRI’s board of directors. ‘Most recently, as president and CEO, she has continued to broaden and strengthen CIRI’s relationships within the investor relations and capital markets communities and help build positive momentum across a number of key areas, including member engagement and improving financial performance.
‘With Nathalie’s ongoing support and leadership through the end of this year, we expect a smooth transition and for this positive momentum to continue.’
Over in the UK, Shelly Patel has swapped one investment manager for another after announcing that she would step down from her role as head of IR at Rathbones to instead become head of IR at Legal & General.
Patel has served as Rathbones’ IR chief since September 2015. Prior to that, she worked in Citigate Dewe Rogerson’s IR practice and held associate roles at the London Stock Exchange and TD Securities.
She writes on LinkedIn: ‘I am really excited for what is ahead, although slightly less excited about remembering how to be the new person after more than a decade in one place!
‘A huge thank you to everyone who made my time at Rathbones what it was. I am sure I will see many of you around the City soon. As a still very much invested shareholder, I will also be cheering Rathbones on from afar (with perhaps a little more interest than most!)’
Staying in the UK, Mandeep Jagpal has joined the team at M&G as an investor relations director.
The appointment comes after Jagpal spent eight years in RBC Capital Markets’ London office, holding various equity research roles, largely covering the European insurance and asset management sectors.
Elsewhere in Europe, and Adam Kay has announced that he is joining the investor relations team at Swedish online gaming firm Hacksaw, which listed on Nasdaq Stockholm in June 2025.
Kay joins after multiple stints as head of IR at cosmetics company Warpaint London, with a one-year break as head of IR at ECARX ahead of the firm’s de-SPAC. Prior to that, he held various IR and communications roles at THG, Global Fashion Group, Purplebricks, JustEat, Playtech and Signet Jewelers.
Writing on LinkedIn, he says that the new role marks ‘a welcome return to the online gaming sector, where I’ve previously worked’.
Kay adds: ‘While a lot has changed since then, many of the investors and analysts that I worked with remain active in the market and I’m looking forward to reconnecting with old contacts and meeting new ones.’
Over the Atlantic, Philip Stefano has joined New York-based insurance firm Octave Specialty Group as its new managing director, head of investor relations.
Stefano joins from Essent Group, where he was vice president of investor relations and corporate development for the last five years. Prior to that, he served as director of equity research at Deutsche Bank, where he was a lead analyst covering the property and casualty insurance and insurance brokerage sectors.
‘We are pleased to welcome Phil to Octave,’ says David Trick, Octave’s EVP, CFO and treasurer. ‘Phil’s strong analytical background and extensive experience with institutional investors will be invaluable to Octave as we expand our investor base and grow our business.’
Finally, there were several moves shared on LinkedIn this week: Dennis Bader has taken up a new role as head of IR at the Bravida Group; Jenn Ellis has taken over as vice president of investor relations at The Estée Lauder Companies; Joshua Baer has started a new role as senior director, investor relations at DigitalOcean; and Arwa Alshehri has been promoted to head of investor relations and business insights at alinma.
