‘This is an exclamation point on my career’
At this year’s IR Magazine Awards – US, held in New York on March 30, IR Magazine spoke with Jane McCahon, who picked up the prestigious lifetime achievement prize.
McCahon is a leading investor relations professional with more than 30 years of experience in the field.
‘This is an exclamation point on my career,’ she told IR Magazine on the red carpet. ‘It’s given me a chance to reconnect with a lot of people and reflect on IR and what it means to me.’
Asked what advice she would offer to peer IROs and the wider IR community at this time of geopolitical tensions, increasing regulations and technological advancements, McCahon said: ‘Focus on what you can impact. The financial world is so complex [that] you can start chasing things that don’t matter.
‘Focus on the things you can have an impact on and you are going to be fine.’
