Viacom and CBS name head of IR for ViacomCBS

Viacom and CBS have named Anthony DiClemente as executive vice president of investor relations at the newly merged company ViacomCBS. He will undertake the role when the merger between the two media companies is completed, which is expected by the end of the year.

DiClemente is currently executive vice president of investor relations at CBS.

In his new role he will report to Christina Spade, currently chief financial officer of CBS, who will become CFO of ViacomCBS after the merger.

Viacom and CBS agreed in August to merge in a deal that will value the company at about $30 bn. Once the deal is complete, Viacom CEO Bob Bakish will become CEO of the combined company.

As head of IR at the merged company, DiClemente will co-ordinate and oversee outreach strategies to the investment community. He will also be closely involved in refining the new company’s corporate strategy and competitive positioning.

‘I am thrilled that Anthony will step into this key leadership position at the newly unified company,’ Spade says in a statement. ‘His deep knowledge of our business, his vast research experience and the relationships he’s built with investors during his time as a Wall Street analyst covering the media industry will be invaluable to us and the future of our company.’

DiClemente joined CBS in June 2019 as executive vice president of investor relations. Before joining CBS, he was senior managing director and fundamental research analyst at investment banking advisory firm Evercore Group, where he worked since 2017.

Previously, he led the equity research coverage of internet and media companies for Nomura Instinet. Before that, he worked for Barclays and Lehman Brothers for 13 years.
