TEGNA names Doug Kuckelman as head of investor relations

TEGNA, the US media company, has appointed Doug Kuckelman as its new head of investor relations.

Kuckelman joined TEGNA in 2012, when the company was still known as Gannett, as a director of corporate development.

He was promoted to senior director of corporate development in 2015, the same year Gannett spun off its publishing business and renamed itself as TEGNA.

Prior to joining Gannett, Kuckelman spent eight years at AOL where his roles included financial reporting, corporate development and financial planning and analysis. Earlier in his career, he worked in assurance and advisory business services at EY, the professional services firm.

The announcement of Kuckelman’s new role also mentions the promotion of Cherbury Chesser to vice president and treasurer.

‘Cherbury and Doug both possess great analytical and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of our business and excellent existing relationships with the financial and investor communities,’ says Victoria Harker, TEGNA’s CFO, in a statement.

‘They are natural choices to fill these critical positions, and on behalf of the TEGNA management team I congratulate them on their well-deserved promotions.’
