Valvoline names Mahmoud Sharaf to run investor relations and treasury

Valvoline, the US-based supplier of motor oil and other automotive products, has named Mahmoud Sharaf as its new vice president of investor relations and treasurer.

In this role, Sharaf manages the combined IR and treasury functions, with responsibility for areas including capital allocation strategy. He reports to Valvoline’s CFO Mary Meixelsperger.

Most recently, Sharaf worked as an adviser to Saudi Arabia’s minister for energy and several public companies, according to a statement.

Prior to that, he served as a portfolio manager and industry analyst at Fidelity Investments, focusing on sectors such as materials and energy. He has also held corporate development and investment banking roles.

‘As the company evolves and our retail service model becomes an increasingly larger part of our business, our ability to connect and share our vision with investors and analysts is essential,’ comments Meixelsperger in the statement.

‘Mack’s financial industry background adds a unique layer of experience and expertise to the IR and treasury teams that will help strategically advance the important work of attracting high-quality investors to the stock and driving shareholder value through Valvoline’s capital markets and capital allocation strategy.’
