Global Roadshow Report 2022 now available

IR Magazine reports on the who, how, where and why of corporate roadshow activity, based on a survey of more than 750 IR professionals.

The report covers a period that has seen the gradual lifting of the travel restrictions imposed to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and examines both in-person and virtual roadshow activity.

Key findings

  • JPMorgan Chase is the most-used broker for in-person roadshows, followed by Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. 
  • JPMorgan Chase is the most-used broker for virtual roadshows, followed by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citi and Morgan Stanley.
  • Just under three quarters of IROs are very satisfied with their in-person roadshow experience, compared with 42 percent who are very satisfied with virtual roadshows.
  • Companies typically used four different brokers for their virtual roadshows in the last year, compared with 2.6 for in-person roadshows.
  • Just over two thirds of roadshows held in the past year were virtual.

North America findings

  • JPMorgan Chase is the most-used broker for in-person roadshows. Stifel is the most-used broker for virtual roadshows.
  • Just under four in five IROs agree that the experience of Covid-19 will lead to a permanent change in roadshow activity.
  • More than six in 10 North American companies that went on the road visited New York.

Europe findings

  • Bank of America Merrill Lynch is the most-used broker for in-person roadshows. Keppler Cheuvreux is the most-used broker for virtual roadshows.
  • Among European companies holding roadshows, more than two thirds held both in-person and virtual events.
  • European companies held the highest number of virtual roadshows, with an average of 6.1 in the past year.

Asia findings

  • JPMorgan Chase is the most-used broker for in-person roadshows. UBS is the most-used broker for virtual roadshows.
  • More than half of Asian companies held just virtual roadshows in the past year.
  • More than three quarters of Asian IROs believe issue-focused roadshows will be more common in the future.
