Huntington Bank names Eric Wasserstrom as IR lead and a flurry of posts open up across the profession

there are also new names at Atos Group and Konecranes

Eric Wasserstrom has been named as the new vice president, head of investor relations at Huntington National Bank, a $210 bn asset regional bank operating across 13 US states.

Taking up the role on April 28, Wasserstrom joins the bank from Walgreens Boots Alliance, where he served as senior vice president and head of global IR in a role that shaped the company’s long-term financial strategy.

Prior to Walgreens, the former financial services analyst spent four years at Discover Financial Services in IR and enterprise strategy. Wasserstrom replaces Timothy Sedabres, who has moved into a new role as Huntington’s head of corporate and strategic finance.

‘We are thrilled to welcome Eric to our team,’ says Zach Wasserman, Huntington’s CFO in a statement. ‘His extensive financial services experience will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our relationships with investors and stakeholders.’

Elsewhere in the world of IR moves, a new head of IR has been named at Konecranes, after IR Impact recently reported the departure of Kiira Fröberg for Kemira. Konecranes has now announced that Linda Häkkilä will take up the lead IR reins at the Helsinki crane maker on June 16. Fröberg leaves at the end of May, with IR manager Ruusa Vallin acting as interim head of IR until Häkkilä’s arrival.

Häkkilä’s joins from Outokumpu Corporation, where she has been working as head of IR and also brings experience from Stora Enso and OP Financial Group.

In France, another former analyst has taken up a head of IR position. Marie de Scorbiac has been announced as the new IR lead at cyber security and cloud computing firm Atos Group, where she will work to deliver closer ties between the firm’s IR program and its sustainability efforts.

‘I am delighted to welcome Marie to the Atos Group management team,’ says Philippe Salle, chairman and chief executive officer in a statement. ‘Her expertise and in-depth knowledge of financial markets will be key in developing and consolidating our relationships with the financial community,’ he continues, adding that ‘I wanted to bring investor relations and CSR under the same department, as I am convinced of the positive impact of Atos’s social and environmental commitment on its long-term performance.’

A University of Paris Dauphine graduate with a master’s degree in economic and social information, de Scorbiac started her career on the banking side, with roles at Thomson and Deutsche Bank. She moved to the corporate side in 2009, holding IR positions at Areva, Elior Group and, most recently, Adevinta, where she managed IR, public affairs and sustainability.
