Plus new IROs at HubSpot and the Czechoslovak Group, alongside a promotion for The Adecco Group’s Benita Barretto
Nasdaq-listed semiconductor producer Qualcomm has appointed Brett Simpson as its new vice president of investor relations, in a move effective immediately.
Simpson joins the company after more than 25 years as the co-founder and partner of Arete Research, where advised the world’s largest technology investors with expertise in semiconductors, AI computers and advanced technology supply chains, Qualcomm notes in a press release.
‘Brett’s deep financial acumen and broad industry expertise make him well suited to lead Qualcomm’s investor relations strategy during a time of growth and transformation for the company,’ says Qualcomm CFO Akash Palkhiwala. ‘His nearly three decades of experience analyzing global technology markets brings invaluable external perspective that will help strengthen our investor dialogue as we execute our strategy.’
Meanwhile, it’s all change at NYSE-traded energy company Chevron, where Jeanine Wai has taken over as director of investor relations, while the person currently in that role, Jake Spiering, moves up to become president, corporate business development.
Spiering will move into the role on August 1 as current president, corporate business development Frank Mount is set to retire in November 2026 after 33 years with the company.
Wai will step into the investor relations team on April 1, rejoining the company after previously working in several engineering and finance roles across Chevron. Prior to that, she held several operating, capital markets and investor relations positions at TotalEnergies, Barclays, JP Morgan, Citi and Bechtel.
‘Throughout his career, Frank has contributed significantly to the success of Chevron,’ says the company’s chairman and CEO Mike Wirth. ‘I’m grateful for his years of service and dedication.’
Elsewhere, NYSE-listed software developer HubSpot has hired Geoff Koegler as its new vice president of investor relations.
He joins the company after nine years at Intuit, where he served as senior manager, then director, of investor relations. Prior to that, Koegler worked in the investor relations team at PayPal as well as in various analyst and internal audit roles at Best Buy.

In Europe, industrial and defence company Czechoslovak Group (CSG) has brought in Peter Russell to fill its newly created head of investor relations role, following on from its IPO on Euronext Amsterdam in January this year.
Reporting director to CSG’s CFO Zdeněk Jurák, Russell brings with him more than 20 years of capital markets experience, including senior IR roles at Rentokil Initial and Avast, as well as investment banking experience at JPMorgan.
Speaking about his new role, Russell says: ‘The first phase after an IPO is about credibility and consistency. Markets don’t expect perfection, but they do expect clear communication and alignment between words and actions.’
Over in Switzerland, human capital solutions firm The Adecco Group has announced that Benita Barretto will be adding responsibility for external communications to her existing remit as head of investor relations.
Barretto joined the company in 2021 as its head of investor relations. Prior to that, she served as senior vice president, investor relations officer at ABB, before which she held various advisory and analysis roles at Finsbury Glover Hering, Berenberg Bank and Credit Suisse.
