People moves: Brendan Throop joins Blossom Gold as VENU appoints Sarah Rothschild

Plus new IROs in place at Salesforce, Altimmune and Graphic Packaging

Live entertainment venue operator Venu Holding Corporation (VENU) has brought Sarah Rothschild as its new senior vice president of strategic finance and investor relations.

Rothschild brings more than 15 years of experience in capital markets, investor relations and corporate finance, the company writes in a press release, most recently serving as senior director of investor relations and treasury at Madison Square Garden Entertainment. Prior to that, she worked as an analyst at a multi-billion-dollar hedge fund and began her career in mergers and acquisitions financial due diligence at PwC.

‘Sarah brings exactly the type of capital markets expertise we need as we continue scaling VENU,’ says JW Roth, founder, chairman and CEO of VENU. ‘Her experience across leading public companies in live entertainment gives her a distinct perspective on how to position growth, build institutional relationships and strategically deploy capital.’

Meanwhile in Canada, Brandon Throop has taken up a new role as vice president, investor relations at Blossom Gold Inc.

Throop, who was a speaker at the IR Impact Forum – Canada 2025, joins after nearly five years as director, investor relations at New Gold. He previously worked as manager, investor relations at Lundin Mining Corporation, prior to which he worked as a research analyst at Raymond James and Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Throop writes: ‘I’m excited to be joining Blossom Gold as its vice president, investor relations… Thank you to Rick Winters, Dino Titaro and John Seaberg for the opportunity to champion the Blossom story with the investment community.’

Graphic Packaging announced that Melanie Skijus will rejoin the company to lead its investor relation team, a role she previously held from 2019 to 2025.

Back in the US, NYSE-listed Graphic Packaging Holding Company announced that Melanie Skijus will rejoin the company to lead its investor relation team, a role she previously held from 2019 to 2025.

Skijus brings more than 15 years of investor relations experience across consumer packaging, manufacturing and financial services, the company writes in a press release, most recently serving as vice president, investor relations at NCR Atleos. Earlier in her career, she spent over a decade as a buyside equity analyst.

She rejoins the firm as Randy Miller, formerly of Novelis, has joined Graphic Packaging as vice president, treasury and capital finance.

‘Melanie and Randy are proven leaders who strengthen our team as we continue to execute our strategy,’ says president and CEO Robbert Rietbroek. ‘Our focus remains clear – strong and consistent cash flow generation, disciplined capital allocation and strengthening the balance sheet to deliver long-term shareholder value.’

Elsewhere, several more career moves were announced on LinkedIn: Luis Sanay writes that he is starting a new position as vice president of investor relations at Altimmune, Michael Horowicz has taken up a new role as director, investor relations at Incyte and Valmik Desai is stepping into the position of vice president, investor relations at Salesforce.
