People moves: Mikaela Krama swaps Kinnevik for Mentimeter as NXP Semiconductors’ Jeff Palmer retires

Plus new IROs at Adecco Group and Sibanye-Stillwater

Mikaela Kramer, who served as head of investor relations at Swedish investment manager Kinnevik for a decade, has joined presentation software company Mentimeter ahead of its expected IPO.

Kramer has worked in Kinnevik’s IR and corporate communication team since March 2016, overseeing the IR function and contending recently with criticism from short-seller Ningi Research. Prior to joining Kinnevik, she worked in a strategic communications role at Fogel & Partners, in corporate finance at Pareto Securities and in Goldman Sachs’ investment banking team in London.

‘Truly grateful for 10 incredible years at Kinnevik and for all the talented people I’ve had the privilege of working with. You’re the best,’ Kramer writes on LinkedIn.

‘And super excited to now join Mentimeter and be part of their growth journey!’

Her hiring at Mentimeter adds to signals that the company will IPO shortly, alongside recent additions to its board of directors and comments from CEO Johnny Warström suggesting the firm would be a good fit for a public listing.

Over in the Netherlands, NXP Semiconductors has announced that long-serving head of IR Jeff Palmer will be standing down from his role after deciding to retire.

He will be succeeded by Mike Lucarelli, who previously worked as global head of FP&A and corporate finance at ride-sharing app Uber. He also spent a decade as head of IR at Analog Devices and served seven years as a sell-side analyst covering semiconductors.

A press release from NXP Semiconductors states: ‘On behalf of NXP, Bill Betz and the NXP management team would like to thank Jeff for his 16 years of dedicated service and leadership where he played a critical role in strengthening NXP’s engagement with the investment community and shaping its strategic narrative.

‘Jeff’s deep understanding of the business, ability to translate investor perspectives into actionable insights and commitment to excellence have made a lasting impact on NXP, and the team wishes him all the best in his retirement.’

In Zurich, Switzerland, the Adecco Group has announced the appointment of Diego Chantrain as its new head of IR and portfolio strategy, replacing Benita Barretto, who is leaving the talent and technology services company to pursue new opportunities.

Since joining the Adecco Group in October 2022, Chantrain has been leading corporate development and M&A. Previously, he led investor relations for Firmenich, where he also held roles in strategic development and M&A.

Valentina Ficaio, Adecco’s CFO, says: ‘I am very much looking forward to the collaboration with Diego. He brings valuable investor relations experience and has been instrumental in driving our acquisition and divestiture pipeline with clarity to leverage new market opportunities and manage our portfolio.’

Meanwhile in Johannesburg, South Africa, Sibanye-Stillwater has brought in Emma Chapman as its new senior vice president, investor relations, effective from September 1.

Chapman currently serves as vice president, investor relations at Teck Resources, where she has led the function through a period of significant corporate transformation and portfolio repositioning, according to a Sibanye-Stillwater press release. Prior to joining Teck, she spent nearly a decade at Anglo American Platinum as head of IR and ESG.

She takes over from James Wellstead, who has moved to the mining and metals processing group’s group transformation office as EVP business analytics and improvement.

Finally, several job moves were reported on LinkedIn: Daniel Fernández Álvarez has been promoted to the role of director, head of investor relations at HelloFresh; Haleon’s former investor relations director Emma White has taken over as interim head of IR at Sainsbury’s; and TMX’s former VP, finance business partnering Matt Windsor has moved into the exchange operator’s corporate planning and investor relations team.
