Building trust and driving impact: Redefining investor relations in South East Asia
Investor Relations in South East Asia is at a turning point. Regulatory fragmentation, macroeconomic volatility and the growing importance of retail investors require IROs to strategically analyze and reform traditional practices. The ability to deliver transparent, dependable and tailored communication has become the foundation for building long-term investor confidence.
At the same time, it remains vital that IR teams embrace change by leveraging data-driven strategies, closing talent gaps and presenting themselves as trusted strategic leaders both internally and out in the capital markets.
The IR Impact Forum – South East Asia 2025 will explore how IROs can future-proof their engagement strategies to increase visibility in a complex marketplace while also equipping them with innovative, practical skills to work smarter and more efficiently.
THE AWARDS
We present two types of award categories – researched and nominated – both celebrating the success of those individuals and companies that were leading the way in IR in South East Asia. For our researched categories, companies do not submit nominations. Instead, hundreds of analysts and investors casted their votes and give their opinions on which companies do the best IR in the region.
In our nominated categories, companies have the opportunity to submit a written entry for aspects of IR that complemented our researched categories. More information can be found in the sections below.
THE FORUM
The event begins with our IR forum where investors, analysts, senior management and heads of IR from small, mid-cap and large-cap companies come together to discuss key issues and share award-winning best practices for investor relations, corporate governance and communications.
For the past three decades, IR Impact has honored excellence in investor relations around the world and in 2025, we continue to recognize and help further IR best practice. We will be joined by senior IR professionals from across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand for this internationally renowned event focused on learning from and celebrating the very best the IR community has to offer.

Lessons from the CFO: How IR can deliver more strategic value
Chief Executive Officers (CFOs) play a pivotal role in shaping how investors perceive corporate value, yet their time with investors is increasingly limited. With only 34 percent of CFOs in Asia joining roadshows and just 50 percent attending investor meetings virtually, IR Impact Global Roadshow Report 2025, CFO time is limited and among the most valuable corporate assets. As the bridge between the boardroom and the market, IR professionals play a pivotal role in ensuring every moment of CFO engagement with investors counts.
When IR teams are not able to anticipate CFO needs or structure engagements effectively, valuable investor opportunities can be lost. In this session, CFOs share crucial insights into how IR can support their investor strategy from preparing for earnings calls and structuring investor meetings to managing follow-ups that turn introductions into long-term investor relationships.
This high-level discussion brings together C-suite leaders to discuss their expectations from IR ahead of key reporting periods and how to elevate the effectiveness of roadshows and virtual meetings.
- What does valuable IR mean to CFOs? Learn what CFOs expect from IR teams to deliver before earnings calls, investor days and roadshows – from market intelligence to quarterly reports
- Maximizing limited CFO time: Learn how to structure roadshows and investor meetings so every CFO engagement drives long-term investor confidence and builds relationships
- Formats for success: Explore how IROs can optimize hybrid, virtual and in-person meeting schedules to ensure efficiency, engagement and measurable outcomes
- Preparing the CFO narrative: Discover how to equip CFOs with data, context and talking points on strategy, ESG and performance to resonate with both institutional and retail investors

Best buy-side management *NEW FOR 2025*
Finding new ways to collaborate with investors and other buy-side participants is a core part of every IR program. In this category, we’re looking for examples of how teams have found new routes to reach and work alongside the buy side, whether that’s through providing an innovative corporate access opportunity, creating new communications materials or introducing a new event format.
Best CEO letter *NEW FOR 2025*
The letter from the chief executive is both an important force for communicating key messages and tone, and an area ripe for innovation. From video to AI to a new style that better captures the investment story, we want to hear how you’ve been elevating the CEO letter. Tell us about your thought process, how you implemented change, where tech is supporting your efforts and how this vital segment of the annual report has been received.
Best innovation in shareholder communications
Judges are looking for IR teams who have had to think out of the box in the past 12-18 months to update their shareholder communications campaign and keep up with the evolving needs and wants of the investor community. We’re looking for that tiny little spark of innovation that sets your company apart!
Best investor event
Did you hold a capital markets day, site visit or other investor event that made your company stand out from the crowd? Tell us how you came up with an original initiative, the way you managed its organization, and how your audience’s expectations were met; audience feedback is also welcome. Both virtual and in-person events can be considered for this award.
Best investor targeting strategy
Have you gone above and beyond to reach new investors and tell your company story? Have you recently changed your targeting strategy to reach new prospects, adapt to adversarial circumstances, or get a better return from your investor engagements? We want to hear from you.
Our judges will look for innovative use of data and analysis to optimize your marketing schedule and provide better returns on your IR department and management’s time on the road and at conferences.
Best IR during a corporate transaction
How did your IR team go above and beyond to support a recent corporate transaction? Let us know the details. We’ll be looking at the IR team’s involvement in crafting/releasing the messaging for the financial markets and how it organized outreach and dialogue to gain approval from key shareholders.
Best IR impact *NEW FOR 2025*

Best sell-side management *NEW FOR 2025*
Working closely with analysts is a core part of many IR programs, but it can pose a challenge when thinking about how to prioritize your time and focus on your company’s sell-side followers. In this category we are looking for teams that have implemented new strategies for keeping up with the sell side, working with analysts and deriving the most from their relationships to best serve their corporate strategies.

In this new category, we want to hear about how you have used tools to overcome IR challenges, create efficiencies, enhance intelligence or improve the quality of your IR activities. Judges want to hear about the tools you have used in your IR efforts, how you used them and the measures implemented to ensure safe and responsible use of technology.
Rising star
This award seeks to honor individuals who bring fresh thinking and a unique approach to the profession. This category is open to anyone who has been working in IR for less than 10 years and has less than 15 years of professional experience.
How the winners are chosen +
The awards-by-nomination categories differ from our traditional researched awards, as individuals and companies are given the opportunity to submit written entries, free of charge, to be put forward to a panel of expert judges made up of investment professionals, IR experts and IR Impact editorial team members.
The judges’ votes are not made public, but their comments may be published in articles or reports after the event. Judges are not required to make comments against every submission.
The judging process consists of three simple phases:
Phase one
Once the entry deadline has passed, the IR Impact editorial team reviews all submissions and produces the shortlist
Phase two
The shortlisted entries are shared with an independent judging panel made up of industry experts. The judges review each shortlisted entry based on four criteria scoring each criterion on a scale from 1 to 5. The scores for all four criteria are then summed to produce a total score for each entry per judge.
The IR Impact awards team receives the results and contacts all shortlisted companies to give them the good news. The shortlists are then published to the entire IR community a month before the event.
Phase three
The judges come together to discuss, debate and select the final list of winners who will go on to win an award

How the winners are chosen +
The first thing to explain is that our awards are different from most others: for our awards by research, companies do not submit nominations. The winners are identified by in-depth research and any publicly traded company is eligible to be considered. This survey is the only one of its kind to go directly to the investment community, canvassing the opinions of the people who matter to you most.
May-August: Online survey
IR Impact has been building investment community databases over the past 35 years. As part of the updating process, listed companies are contacted every year for details of the professionals who currently cover their stock. IR Impact then conducts an electronic survey of buy-side and sell-side analysts and portfolio managers. Each survey respondent is asked to nominate and rank up to five companies in a host of different research categories, from best IRO to best reporting.
September-October: Results analysis & shortlists announced
Analysis of the results begins once the survey stage of the research is complete. Points are allocated to each company depending on how frequently it is nominated. The companies with the highest point scores in each individual awards category make the short list for that award. The top company will go on to win the award. Best-in-sector awards are determined by the highest aggregate scores across all research categories.
The IR Impact awards team receives the results and contacts all shortlisted companies to give them the good news. The shortlists are then published to the entire IR community a month before the event.
December: Winners announced
The winners are announced at our awards ceremony, which is attended by the leading lights of the Asian investor relations community.
