‘I am delighted that Manus has agreed to take on the role of group chief financial officer,’ says Bill Winters, group chief executive, announcing Costello’s new role at the firm. ‘Since joining Standard Chartered two years ago, he has made a significant contribution to the group’s strategic positioning and engagement of stakeholders, while also bringing strong rigor and an entrepreneurial mindset to the role. This will further benefit Standard Chartered as we move forward into our next phase of growth and deliver on our medium-term financial objectives.’

Costello adds that ‘Standard Chartered is a compelling franchise, offering cross-border capabilities that are deeply valued by our clients. As the group chief financial officer, I look forward to playing my part in building on our momentum and in delivering on our future ambition at this exciting time for the business.’

In other news, IR Impact Award winning IR professional Irina Zhurba has shared news of her new role at Redcare Pharmacy. Writing on LinnkedIn, she says: ‘Something has been in the works for a while and I’m finally ready to talk about it … I’m joining Redcare Pharmacy as director, investor relations. We are Europe’s leading online pharmacy – a category-defining business at the intersection of healthcare, e-commerce and digital transformation.

‘A growth story that is still very much being written… stay tuned.’

Prior to Redcare Pharmacy, Zhurba served at Mister Spex. Her time there earned her the inaugural IR Impact trophy at the IR Impact Awards – Europe 2025 in a telenovela-worthy saga including share-price plunges, activist entries and an IR intervention that saw Zhurba herself delivering a new long-term shareholder to the company in the space of one hectic week.

Moving from pharmacies to pharmaceuticals, Danish firm Gubra has named Adam Lange as the company’s new head of investor relations, effective June 1. Lange comes most recently from Zealand Pharma but has also spent time at Novo Nordisk and UNION therapeutics in a career covering obesity and metabolic disease, immunology and inflammation, and now peptides.

‘I am excited to join Gubra at an important and dynamic stage of the company’s journey,’ says Lange in a company statement. ‘Gubra has established a strong scientific platform validated by multiple partnerships and a unique business model around its Biotech unit, pre-clinical CRO services and the newly launched Ventures arm.’

Welcoming him to the firm is Kristian Borbos, Gubra CFO, who says: ‘Adam brings a strong track record within investor relations and broad experience from pharmaceutical and biotech companies in therapeutic areas of strategic importance to Gubra. His experience will be highly valuable as we continue to strengthen our position in the market and engage with the investment community around Gubra’s long-term strategy and growth opportunities.’

Elsewhere, Christopher Gordon shared on LinkedIn that he has joined HBX Group as a senior manager in the investor relations team. ‘It’s an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading global B2B travel technology marketplace and I look forward to engaging with investors and discussing the company’s continued progress in the months ahead,’ he writes, also giving his thanks to Isabel Green – HBX director of IR and corporate development – and Brendan Brennan – group CFO – ‘for their trust and confidence’.

Another new appointment sees Andy Larkin joining NYSE-listed Commercial Metals Company as vice president of investor relations. ‘CMC is a highly respected leader in the construction industry with a differentiated business model and compelling long-term growth opportunities,’ he writes in LinkedIn. ‘I’m especially excited to return to this space and look forward to helping tell the CMC story in the years ahead. Grateful for the opportunity and energized for this next chapter.’

Over at Tritax Group, Charles Chalkly has been promoted to senior director, investor relations. ‘The role continues to span both Tritax Big Box and our Private Markets platform, working across investor engagement, market insight and capital relationships,’ he writes in a post on LinkedIn, where he also shared a photo montage offering insight into what the job looks like.

‘The photos give a flavor of what [the role] looks like in practice – from meeting investors in the UK and internationally and time at our assets to investor events and publishing results,’ writes Chalkly. ‘The focus is simple: being proactive, building relationships and making an impact (and, as the collage suggests, usually with a tie on, even during last year’s charity walk).’

A further flurry of short announcements across LinkedIn this week seeChris Belfiore join Circuit as head of investor relations, Lindsey Trickett move to Compugen as its new head of investor relations & corporate communications and Madeline Brooks join NVIDIA as director of investor relations.
