Plus new IROs in place at Sun Life, Limbach and many more
Joanne Roberts has taken on a new brief at Standard Life, moving into a new role of chief strategy and investor relations officer.
She joined the London-listed pensions and retirement savings provider in 2024 as director of investor relations, following an eight-year stint as director of investor relations at Metro Bank. Prior to that, she worked in various broker and investment banking roles at Citi and PwC.
Roberts writes on LinkedIn: ‘Delighted to have been asked by [CFO] Nic Nicandrou and [CEO] Andy Briggs to lead this newly combined team of talented colleagues as we look ahead to an exciting future for Standard Life and what we can deliver for our customers!’
Meanwhile, Kevin Walker, a long-time member of the IR team at US retailer Dollar General, has been promoted to a new role of senior vice president, investor relations and strategy.
It comes on the back of a 15-year career with the Nasdaq-listed company, which Walker joined in November 2011 as a senior staff accountant, before joining the IR team in 2017 and holding roles of increasing responsibility.
‘Going forward, he will manage the company’s relationships with the investment community by helping communicate earnings, growth benchmarks and long-term strategy,’ writes Dollar General in a press release marking the change.
Walker’s promotion comes is part of a wide-ranging rearrangement, with several new senior vice presidents named, as well as the appointment of chief operating officer Jeffery Owen as Dollar General’s new CEO. He takes up the role on November 1, when current CEO Todd Vasos plans to retire.
Meanwhile in Toronto, TSX- and NYSE-listed financial services firm Sun Life has announced the appointment of Darko Mihelic as its new senior vice president, head of investor relations.
Mihelic joins Sun Life from RBC Capital Markets, where he served as managing director, equity research, covering Canada’s banking and insurance sectors. Prior to that, he held equity research roles at organizations including Cormark Securities and CIBC Capital Markets.
He succeeds Natalie Brady, who was appointed to the role of senior vice president, head of capital management and corporate development at Sun Life earlier this year.
In Tampa, Florida, building solutions firm Limbach has brought in Adam Prior as its new vice president of investor relations and corporate strategy.
He most recently served as director of IR at New Jersey Resources, prior to which he spent more than two decades at The Equity Group in various roles.
Michael McCann, Limbach’s president and CEO, says: ‘Adam brings extensive experience in corporate strategy and investor relations, a strong understanding of capital markets and an established network of relationships across the investment community.
‘His ability to connect business strategy with investor perspectives will be valuable as we continue with our plans to expand our geographic footprint, pursue disciplined growth and build long-term value for our stockholders.’
Over in Thousand Oaks, California, Teledyne Technologies has announced that Mary Grace DeForest has moved into a new role as corporate vice president of investor relations and M&A.
She first joined Teledyne in 2011 as a manufacturing engineer and has assumed positions of increased responsibility at both the corporate office and Teledyne businesses.
Elsewhere, Nasdaq-listed biotechnology company Adlai Nortye has appointed Christopher Liu as its head of investor relations and public relations.
He most recently served as a managing director of equity research at Lucid Capital Markets, where he covered biotechnology and oncology companies. Previously, he was a director of equity research at Leerink Partners and held research roles at Canaccord Genuity and Oppenheimer & Co.
Finally, Avenzo Therapeutics has appointed Annie Chang as its senior vice president, investor relations and corporate communications to serve on its executive leadership ahead of its anticipated IPO.
She joins Avenzo with more than 20 years of experience in investment banking, investment management, corporate development and investor relations, most recently serving as vice president, investor relations and corporate communications for 89bio.
